Overview

The Nettspend Rhonda Situation, also known as I Got Racks Now Rhonda, refers to a DM conversation allegedly held between rapper Nettspend and a girl named Rhonda Moore who goes by @rhondagdk on Instagram. In late October 2024, Rhonda posted an Instagram story that was a screen recording allegedly of her messages with Nettspend from his official account. The two were seemingly flirting and, at one point, Nettspend messaged her, "I got racks now Rhonda." Rhonda's story was later reposted to Twitter / X along with photos from her Instagram. Fans of Nettspend and underground rap found the ordeal funny because of Rhonda's appearance. Many thought that Nettspend was out of Rhonda's league and the idea of the two being romantically involved at some point seemed absurd. Others joked about how Rhonda texted, which involved intentional misspellings like how she replaced vowels with the letter "X" (like using "dxddy" instead of "daddy") or spelled "you" like "yhu." As the story developed, Nettspend started to embrace the situation by tweeting, "I got racks now Rhonda," and saying the catchphrase on stage at a concert.

On October 24th, 2024, X^[1] user @nufseyd tweeted screenshots from the Instagram^[2] Story of user @rhondagdk (Rhonda Moore), which allegedly showed DMs with rapper Nettspend. The messages show him saying, "yoo rhonda … I miss you too ma" and her responding, "I need yhu ta run a train on meh." Nettspend is also shown saying, "bring your sister meg … she bad [as hell]." Later, Nettspend's message says, "I got racks now rhonda." It's ultimately unconfirmed if the messages are real (shown below).

Another part of Rhonda's Instagram Story was shared by X^[1] user @nufseyd in the same tweet in which she screen-recorded her alleged DMs with Nettspend, aiming to prove that it was his real account (shown below).

X^[1] user @nufseyd's tweet also included a photo of Rhonda from her Instagram^[3] account, showing her taking a mirror selfie with her other friends (shown below).

Over four days, X^[1] user @nufseyd's tweet received over 16,000 likes.

After the Story went viral on X, users reacted to the alleged messages en masse. For instance, on October 24th, 2024, X^[4] user @Glox4u joked, "NETTSPEND COMES OUT AS JAMAICAN," gaining over 7,900 likes in four days (shown below).

On October 26th, X^[5] user @MOONLITMEAD0W posted the Plapjak image, captioning it, "nettspend and rhonda," receiving over 8,000 likes in two days (shown below).

On October 27th, 2024, TikToker^[6] @deathuponbliss posted a video that riffed on the DMs allegedly held between Nettspend and Rhonda, gaining over 149,200 plays and 22,600 likes in a day (shown below).

Also on October 27th, TikToker^[7] @emmasobaseddd posted fan art that shipped Nettspend and Rhonda, showing Nettspend telling Rhonda that he has racks now. The photo amassed over 34,200 likes in a day (shown below).

On her Instagram^[2] Story, Rhonda then reacted to the abovementioned fan art (shown below).

Nettspend's Response / Debunking

On October 26th, 2024, Redditor^[8] Acceptable_Cable8098 posted to the subreddit /r/nettspend, writing, "the truth rhondagdk." The post included a then-recent screenshot of Nettspend's Instagram Story, allegedly showing that the only DM interaction he'd had with Rhonda was her tagging him in her Story (shown below). Nettspend's Instagram Story was also screenshotted and reposted on TikTok.^[9]
