Overview

Sam Hyde vs. Dr DisRespect Muay Thai Fight refers to the upcoming Muay Thai fighting event between the two content creators Sam Hyde and Dr DisRespect. The influencer boxing event, touted as the first Muay Thai fight between influencers, was announced in late July 2023 and will include a $1 million prize.

Background

On May 14th, 2022, after winning his fight in Creator Clash, the boxer Harley Morenstein proceeded to use his post-fight interview to directly call out wanting to fight Dr DisRespect, which not only excited much of the crowd but also created a lot of buzz on social media due to the Doc's character acting and height. The YouTube channel Beefy_Tanks^[1] uploaded the post-fight clip, earning over 33,000 views in one year (shown below).

Later that year, on August 27th, 2022, Sam Hyde directly called out wanting to fight Twitch streamer Hasan Piker after his successful boxing match while being his alter ego "The Candyman," which again garnered significant attention online due to Hyde's history and him calling out Piker.

A clip of his call-out was posted to YouTube on August 27th, 2022, by the YouTube channel Sam & Nick's Perfect Clips^[2] where it gained over 1 million views in one year (shown below).

2023 Announcement

On July 12th, 2023, Sam Hyde formally challenged Dr DisRespect to a Muay Thai match for $1 million in prize money, which energized both communities and lead to speculation on which one would end up victorious if both parties agreed. On July 13th, TikToker SailorNewsNetwork^[3] uploaded a TikTok going over their reaction to the news of the offer, saying that they hope it comes true (shown below).

On July 31st, 2023, Sam Hyde then tweeted^[4] out confirmation that the fight between him and Dr DisRespect was going to happen, calling it his "final fight." The highly hyped battle is set for an unknown date in 2024, at an unknown venue (shown below).
