The Youtube Rewind

YouTube uploaded a video for 2017's Youtube Rewind. This video included celebrities such as Jake and Logan Paul, as well as recalling the dead trend that is the fidget spinner. There was no "slightly controversial" content, and many YouTubers that really did make up 2017 events were excluded. The feedback is negative in the community, simply having a silent majority of likes (at time of writing). The like/dislikes are 1M and 806K respectively. Due to #TankTheRewind, the dislike number is increasing rapidly.

EmpLemon's Response

YouTuber EmpLemon uploaded a video called YouTube Rewind Reality Check 2017 #TankTheRewind which was a rant video. This video called out how fake the YouTube Rewind was, in it's use of celebrities and fake smiles. EmpLemon said "YouTube is gonna provide the masses with a glossy and colorful facade all while sweeping their massive gaping problems under the rug…" And so they did. They ignored all the drama, such as PewDiePie, Idubbbz, and IHE, as well as Jake/Logan Paul (while making a small reference with the paint splattering)'s drama, and the insanity they stirred up in the community. He also talks about Casey Neistat's charity video on the Vegas shooting being removed. Casey wanted to donate all the ad revenue to the Vegas Shooting victims. YouTube gave him a YouTube-style comment (vague, lying, misleading) and blatantly ignored Jimmy Kimmel blaming the people for the shooting, letting him rack in millions for himself. We haven't even reached the youtube system problem as a whole. EmpLemon also complains about the subscriber issue, the notification bell (which didn't even fix the subscriber issue), the LGBT censorship (with YouTube claiming to support them, while still censoring them) the demonetization for basic offenses, and the complete cesspool that was the Spiderman/Elsa Videos. EmpLemon ends with a goal in mind: *Make the Youtube Rewind of 2017 the Most Disliked Video of All Time.

#TankTheRewind

This was the message of EmpLemon's response, to make the Rewind the most disliked video ever. The goal is not very far off, due to the blatant outrage of YouTubers and YouTube users alike. The reason this affects the viewers is because of the YouTubers who use YouTube as their main source of income. If they are demonetized, they cannot create videos for the viewer. The comments section on the Rewind is also being spammed with #TankTheRewind.
