Everybody Hit the Sea Lion or The Sea Lion is a dance and lip dub trend inspired by the Yuno Miles song "Sea Lion Rap" in which the dancer lies on their stomach, raises their legs and holds onto their ankles or puts their arms at their sides while bouncing up and down, making them resemble a sea lion. The song was released in January 2026, and the dance trend began on TikTok in February, spreading into March 2026. The trend was originally started by TikToker @khalil_btw.

Origin

On January 13th, 2026, meme rapper Yuno Miles released the music video for his song "Sea Lion Rap" on YouTube,^[1] garnering over 1.2 million views in two months. In the song, Yuno Miles raps, "Everybody do it with me, hit the sea lion," and then does a vocal impression of a sea lion.

On February 13th, 2026, TikToker^[2] @khalil_btw posted a video set to the song where he "hits the sea lion" by getting on his stomach, raising his legs behind his back, grabbing his ankles and acting like a sea lion. The video gained over 3.3 million views in a month and is the earliest known example of the dance.

Spread

The Sea Lion dance went viral between late February and March 2026 on TikTok and Instagram Reels as it spread on social media.

On March 5th, 2026, Instagram^[3] page wmhs.announcements posted a video of several high school students hitting the sea lion around their school, garnering over 8 million views in two weeks.

On March 10th, TikToker^[4] @hanvmain posted a video where she hits the sea lion in class on several desks, garnering over 7.5 million views in nine days.
