Fax My Brother! Spit Your Shit Indeed! is a series of exploitable reaction images in which a character, photoshopped over the Clippy background, says, "Fax my brother! Spit your shit indeed!" The earliest known iteration of the meme to use the phrase was posted to iFunny in September 2022, gaining viral spread over the following months. On its own, the phrase "fax my brother" also became popularized as a catchphrase online.

Origin

In 2019, a reaction image by now-deleted meme page @driptoodrown began circulating online, which depicts a man in a red hoodie rubbing his hands together over the Clippy background, saying, "Put your phone away you are horny" (shown below, left). The meme was largely posted under thirst traps.^[1] On September 29th, 2022, iFunny^[2] user Neco_Arc_Enthusiast posted a meme seemingly inspired by the image in which Neco-Arc is captioned "Fax my brother! Spit your shit indeed!" garnering over 95 smiles in two years (shown below, right). This is the earliest known iteration of the meme to use the exact phrase, but it is unclear if it is the true origin.

The meme continued to inspire new variations over the following years, depicting various characters saying the phrase. On February 6th, 2023, Instagram^[3] user chainsaw.man.memes posted a version of the meme that gained over 1,900 likes in a year (shown below).

On August 9th, Instagram^[4] user serialexperimentslains posted a version of the meme that gained over 2,500 likes in seven months (shown below, left). On March 3rd, 2024, Tenor^[5] user PaTrIcKbateman1940 posted a version of the meme featuring Goku (shown below, right).
