About

Fibonacci Fab February is a proposed challenge in which a male masturbates according to the Fibonacci sequence. Each number in the sequence is the sum of the two numbers that precede it. So, the sequence goes: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, and so on.^[1] The mathematical equation describing it is Xn+2= Xn+1 + Xn. Fap is an onomatopoeic Internet slang term for the act of masturbation typically associated with men.

Origin

On December 3rd, 2017, Redditor Thiagovescoelho posted to a Fibonacci Februry Calendar to /r/memeeconomy ^[2] and titled the post: "Tips for improving the name and/or format of this meme? Think it has potential?" The received 114 points (95% upvoted) in a year. Redditor leovold-19982011 commented the name suggestion "Fibonacci Fap February."

Precursors

No Fap September, and other no fap months are challenges in which the participants must abstain from masturbation (known as "fapping") for an entire month. These are annual events that are rumored to have begun in the /b/ (random) board on 4chan in August of 2009, but an archived thread has yet to be found.

On November 10th, 2017 Destroy Dick December became a proposed challenge in which a male masturbates once on December 1st, twice on December 2nd, and so on until they masturbate 31 times on December 31st. The concept began going viral in November of 2017, and as of November 15th, 2017, it has not been attempted.

On November 3rd, 2018, Iraqistan^[2] defined Fibonacci Fap February as "a whole month of nutting to the fibonacci sequence for example Feb 1 – 1 nut Feb 2 – 1 nut Feb 3 – 2 nuts Feb 4 – 3 nuts ultimately leading up to the last day of February where you must bust over 300k nuts in a day."

On January 3rd, 2019, Redditor SecondGeoduck^[3] posted a detailed set of calculations for Fibonacci Fab February (shown below).

"We all know about the Fibonacci Sequence: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, and so on. The point is that each number is the sum of the previous two numbers before it (i.e. 2 is 1+1, 3 is 1+2, etc.).
The challenge is to nut a number of times equal to the Fibonacci sequence on a corresponding term and day. Here are some statistics:
The sum of the first 28 Fibonacci numbers is 832039 (assuming there is no day zero and we start at 1).
Over a period of 28 days, an average of 29715.68 per day must be completed minimum. That's 1238.15 per hour, 20.64 per minute, or 0.34 per second.
If the regular plan is followed, then the last day is 317811. This means 13242.13 per hour, 220.70 per minute, and 3.68 per second for the entire day.
Even the previous value, 196418, is still 2.27 per second.
The value, 55, seems to be the point of impossibility, with 2.29 per hour for the whole 24 hour day.
Finally, the amount of semen generated by this challenge would be immense. Using the national average amount of semen ejaculated from one orgasm, 5 mL, we can calculate the total amount of semen for the challenge, which ends up being 4160195 mL or 4160.195 L of cum. 2080.10 large coke bottles worth."
