First Car Girl refers to an image of a girl posing with her first car that was posted to /r/teenagers in December of 2020. The image set off a chain of photoshop parodies, which dominated the subreddit for several days.

Origin

On December 21st, 2020, Redditor Blondy712 posted a picture of herself and her first car to /r/teenagers. The post gained over 110,000 points on Reddit in one day^[1] (shown below).

Spread

Shortly after the original post, Redditors on /r/teenagers began posting photoshops of the original image. For example, user bonebonus posted an example showing the girl in front of SpaceX, gaining over 200 points^[2] (shown below, left) and user x582 posted a picture of the girl in front of a toy shopping cart, gaining over 120 points^[3] (shown below, right).

The sudden influx of photoshops soon led others to make memes commenting on the craze itself. For example, user BaranBilal1^[4] posted a Dust Storm Dog meme about the craze, gaining over 820 points (shown below, left). User tooth_pooth^[5] posted an Anime Girl Hiding From Terminator meme, gaining over 700 points (shown below, right).
