First Date and She Wore This is a catchphrase used in a series of memes in which a person wearing an inappropriate or funny outfit on a date is shown under a Snapchat banner reading, "First date and she wore this." The meme was popularized in November 2025 after a photo of a woman eating pizza and wearing a shirt that reads "Pink Monster" with one arrow pointing to a can of pink Monster Energy drink, and another pointing to her crotch, went viral on Instagram, inspiring more examples of the meme over the following months. The memes are inspired by a series of ads by the shirt company Dippy Tees.
Origin
The shirt company Dippy Tees is known to advertise its products through memes on its Instagram page, dippy_tees. On October 4th, 2025, the Instagram[1] page posted a photo of a woman wearing an inappropriate joke shirt, featuring a Snapchat banner reading, "First date… do I even need to ask?" garnering over 140,000 likes in four months. The page continued to post similar memes to this.
On November 20th, Instagram[2] user thecringe_tv posted a similar meme using the caption, "First date and she wore this" over an image of a woman eating pizza, wearing a shirt with an arrow pointing from the words "pink monster" to a pink Monster Energy can and to her crotch, garnering around 1,000 likes in three months. This is the earliest available post of the meme.

In November 2025, the "pink monster" meme was reposted to Facebook[3][4] twice. On January 20th, 2026, X[5] user @DrClownPhD posted a version of the meme showing a woman wearing a shirt that depicts Mario in a swastika shape, garnering over 4,900 likes in two weeks.
The meme was reposted to the /r/shitposting[6] subreddit on January 22nd, garnering over 10,000 upvotes in about two weeks.
On January 26th, 2026, Redditor Cubes_of_ice posted an edit of the meme replacing the shirt on the woman to the /r/badmemes[7] subreddit, garnering over 700 upvotes in a week.
