First It's A Saturday Night Thing, continued, It Feels So Good, You Start Doing It On Tuesdays, refers to a quote from the 1995 film The Basketball Diaries where Leonardo Dicaprio, playing Jim Carroll, talks about his increasing drug use. The quote became a popular original sound in lip dubs and skits about drug addictions and addictions in general on TikTok in late February throughout March 2022.
Origin
On February 22nd, TikToker[1] @jimscarroll posted a video compiling footage of Leonardo DiCaprio from the 1995 film The Basketball Diaries with a cut-up version of a quote from the film about his increasing drug use where he talks about it being a Saturday night thing, then eventually becoming an everyday thing (shown below). The video gained over 2.2 million views in under a month. The video is set to a sped up remix of the quote mixed with the song "Drowning" by Vague003.[2]

It feels so good, you start doing it on Tuesdays… then Thursdays… then it's got you. Every wise ass punk on the block says it won't happen to them, but it does.

The video's original sound became increasingly popular in late February 2022 throughout March, inspiring over 60,000 uses in under a month. The most popular videos are skits using the quote to describe a person's addiction. On February 28th, TikToker[5] @lauren.robert5 posted a video about her past addiction to drugs, gaining over 700,000 views in just under three weeks (shown below).

On March 9th, TikToker[3] @619roberto posted a video about his addiction to skipping school, gaining over 7 million views in a week (shown below, left). On March 14th, TikToker[4] @6arcia504 posted a video about taking too many shifts at work to the sound, gaining over 4.1 million views in four days (shown below, right).
