George Santos Pointing At Whiteboard or George Santos' "There Are Two Genders" Post refers to an exploitable image of former U.S. representative for New York's 3rd congressional district George Santos" in which he shared a video to Twitter / X in late November 2023 posing with a sign produced by Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene's office declaring that "there are only two genders." The post became the subject of Photoshop edits and memes in the following days, largely mocking the Republican politician by adding funny quotes to the whiteboard.

Origin

On November 30th, 2023, American politician George Santos, who served as the representative for New York's 3rd congressional district, posted a video on X^[1] in which he showed a whiteboard with the text, "There are only TWO genders: Male & Female" written on it. The video, which also has the quote "Trust The Science" (shown below), amassed over 19 million views and 4,600 likes in three days.

A few hours after Santos's tweet, on November 30th, 2023, X^[2] user @CaelanConrad replied to the politician's post with the caption, "The internet is so cruel, and would be a shame if they used his video as a meme," referencing the whiteboard (shown below, left) next to Santos. The post amassed more than 51,000 likes and 2,500 retweets in four days and inspired other users to share their versions of the George Santos meme by adding additional quotes to the sign.

For example, on the same day, X^[3] user @greenishtoe used the whiteboard to replace the "male and female" phrase with "Eat hot chip and lie." The post (shown below, right) received roughly 6,500 likes and 149 retweets in four days.
