Grr Mondays or #GrrrMondays is a catchphrase and hashtag originating from a scene in the 2015 movie Ted 2, where Mark Wahlberg's character John gets covered in sperm at a sperm bank, Ted takes a photo of him and posts it to Facebook, tagging it, "#GrrMondays."
In September 2026, the scene became the subject of memes on TikTok and Instagram Reels. Some of the most popular memes include animations set to the audio and reenactments of the scene.
Origin
On June 26th, 2015, Ted 2 was released. In one scene, Ted and John are in the freezer of a sperm bank. John knocks over a shelf of samples and gets covered in sperm. Ted takes a photograph and posts it on Facebook with the hashtag, "Grr Mondays."[1]
On September 4th, 2026, TikToker[2] @carson_mckim posted the clip with the caption "Grrr Mondays" displayed at the top of the screen, garnering over 2.8 million views in about two weeks.

The clip became the subject of memes on TikTok and Reels in September 2026.
On September 5th, 2026, Instagram[3] user poopinpigga posted a version of the meme where the clip points to a Monday weather forecast that claims it will be 149,836 degrees, gaining over 11,000 likes in two weeks.
On September 6th, TikToker[4] @cmj_peak posted an edit that shows several Instagram Notes posts with the "Grr Mondays" hashtag, garnering over 8.8 million views in two weeks.

On September 17th, TikToker[5] @hannah.inator posted a Rick and Morty animation set to the sound, garnering over 656,000 views in five days.
