About

Hey, As Long As It Works. is an exploitable series of image macros taken from a scene of the anime Fist of The North Star / Hokuto no Ken. Edits of the image swap out the characters and/or objects used in the scene with different characters or objects. The scene also has been redrawn with various fictional characters in place of Kenshiro and Jackal.

Origin

The scene comes from the twelfth episode of Fist of The North Star / Hokuto no Ken, which first aired in Japan on January 10th, 1985.[1] In the scene, Jackal is found by Kenshiro after blowing up a room full of his own henchmen with a bundle of dynamite. Jackal then proceeds to run away and try to hide, but is soon found by Kenshiro again. Jackal then attempts to attack Kenshiro with a stick of dynamite stashed behind his vest (shown below).

A screencap was made of the scene and posted to Tumblr on December 28th, 2014 by jamaicanrage[2] (shown below) where it received over 35,000 notes. The image was reposted to Imgur by TotallynotFlint[3] on January 3rd, 2015, where it received over 100,000 views in over seven years.
