How Does It Feel To Live My Dream refers to a viral video of TikToker Lexi Grasty shouting "how does it feel to live my dream" then screaming loudly in her car in response to a video of a woman showing off her Hooters outfit. The video's audio became a popular Original Sound in October 2021 after being reuploaded by another user. It is often used in lip dub skits and memes to express anger over envy over someone else living your dream or having something you don't.

Origin

On June 23rd, 2021, TikToker^[1] @lexiiivlogs_ posted a video Stitching TikToker^[2] @kathrynhammett's video where she refutes the idea that only women with low self-esteem work at Hooters (shown below). In the video, Grasty shouts "how does it feel to live my dream!?" and then screams in her car, implying her dream is to work at Hooters. The video gained over 1.1 million views in four months.

On June 24th she uploaded a version of the video to TikTok^[3] consisting only of her reaction, gaining over 999,000 views in a comparable span of time. The video became notably popular as an Original Sound, particularly in September, inspiring over 9,000 videos on the platform (examples shown below, left and right).

Spread

On October 1st, TikToker^[4] @lulushootsifer posted a version of the video consisting of only Lexi's reaction with additional on-screen text: "pov: you have a sibling that doesn't tell your secrets," gaining over 800,000 views in four weeks. The Original Sound became popular over the course of the month, inspiring over 110,000 videos before November. Two of the most popular videos, uploaded October 11th by TikToker @indiana and October 13th by TikToker @abbieherbert_, are lip dub skits about frustration over being flat-chested and having unevenly sized breasts respectively, gaining over 17 million and 22 million views in two weeks (shown below, left and right). The latter video was also posted to YouTube,^[5] gaining over 200,000 views in a week.

On October 22nd, TikToker @painhub.and.simphub.com posted a video using text reading "me when I see people with their dad" over the original of Grasty screaming, gaining over 2.6 million views in three days (shown below).
