Husbandjak refers to a Wojak character with brown hair, a short beard and a blue plaid shirt, who is portrayed in memes as an archetypical husband. The parody character achieved popularity on social media in April 2024 following the virality of his female counterpart Wifejak.

Origin

In mid-April 2024, the Wojak character Wifejak achieved viral popularity in memes as a depiction of a stereotypical wife. Following the viral spread of the character, several users on X / Twitter created a male counterpart for the meme, dubbed "Husbandjak."

Notable versions include submissions by X^[1][2][3] / Twitter users @CartoonsHateHer (shown below, left), @TheManlet_King (shown below, center), and @b_e_a_n_mom (shown below, right), all posted within several hours of each other on April 12th, 2024.

Out of these three versions, the latter achieved particular virality in memes over the following days.

Spread

Starting on April 12th, 2024, multiple memes based on the character, including Wojak Comics based on interactions between Wifejak and Husbandjak, went viral on X / Twitter and other platforms.

For example, on April 12th, X user @CartoonsHateHer posted the earliest discovered Husbandjak meme. The post received over 250 reposts and 3,600 likes on X^[1] in three days (shown below, left). Later that day, X user @TheManletKing posted a Wojak Comic that garnered over 720 reposts and 16,000 likes in three days (shown below, right).

Later on April 12th, 2024, several memes based on the Husbandjak variant created by @b_e_a_n_mom went viral. On that day, X^[4] user @_MOTHWIFE posted a caption meme that received over 470 reposts and 7,700 likes in three days (shown below, left). X^[5] user @dumbbitchcap posted a meme referencing the Would You Still Love Me If I Was a Worm? trend that gained over 350 reposts and 8,000 likes in the same period (shown below, right).

The character maintained popularity on social media, primarily on X / Twitter, through mid-April 2024.
