"I Can Fix Him," Says Woman Who Is Worse refers to a catchphrase and exploitable image macro where an image of a woman or couple is paired with the aforementioned caption. The origin of the template comes from the satire website The Hard Times, which published an article with the headline in late 2021. The template took off in usage going into early 2022 on platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

On September 16th, 2021, The Hard Times[1] published a satire article titled, "'I Can Fix Him,' Says Woman Who Is Worse," written by Anya Mansoor (shown below). They subsequently posted the article to both their Twitter[2] and Facebook[3] accounts. The tweet received 7,300 likes and the Facebook post received 2,600 reactions, both over the course of three months.

The meme didn't gain significant attention, however, until January 2022 when Twitter[4] user SSScum posted a screenshot of the article's thumbnail on January 1st (shown below). The tweet received roughly 312,500 likes over the course of four days.

The first known remix of the template was posted to the subreddit /r/Re_Zero[5] by Redditor PresidentPoogie on January 2nd, 2022. The meme (shown below, left) received roughly 2,700 upvotes over the span of three days. Approximately 10 minutes later, Twitter[6] user wambstans posted another iteration of the template, referencing in it characters from HBO's show Succession. Their meme (shown below, right) received roughly 67,300 likes in the same amount of time.



The template spread to other platforms like Facebook going into early January 2022. For instance, Facebook[7] page Classical Studies memes for Hellenistic teens posted a meme on January 4th that referenced the Disney movie Hercules (shown below). The post gained up to 5,700 reactions and 1,000 shares in less than a day.
