About

I Just Flipped the Switch is a selfie video trend in which participants lipsync to the song "Nonstop" by recording artist and rapper Drake. Generally, participants film the video in front of a bathroom mirror, flipping a light switch when the lyric "I just flipped a switch" is uttered. As the lyric plays, the screen goes black, and when the lights return, the participant's appearance has changed for humorous effect, similar to Karma Is a Bitch and Why Do Good Girls Like Bad Guys?. These videos are usually hashtagged "#FlipTheSwitch."

Origin

On July 27th, 2018, the song "Nonstop" by Drake was released on Apple Music. [1]

Look, I just flipped a switch (flipped, flipped)
I don't know nobody else that's doin' this
Bodies start to drop, ayy (hit the floor)
Now they wanna know me since I hit the top, ayy
