I Think There's Someone Hanging Right There is a quote spoken by YouTuber and content creator Logan Paul during his infamous 2017 suicide forest video in which he filmed himself finding a person hanging from a tree in Japan's Aokigahara forest. The quote became the subject of memes over the following years as a catchphrase. In November 2024, the phrase then went viral on TikTok as users began editing it over clips of Logan Paul speaking, with many of the videos being captioned, "Logan went off script" or "I think bro went off script."

Origin

On December 31st, 2017, Logan Paul posted a now-deleted vlog to YouTube in which he finds a body hanging in Aokigahara, a forest on Mt. Fuji in Japan, known as the "suicide forest." When he finds the body, Logan says, "Um guys, I really hate to say this. I think there's someone hanging right there."

On October 9th, 2024, TikToker^[1] @intensetizz posted an edit of Logan Paul's "I Like My Cheese Drippy Bruh" meme captioned, "Logan wrong line my bro," in which the audio of Paul saying, "I think there's someone hanging there," replaces the original line, garnering over 10 million views in a month.

On November 19th, TikToker^[3] @yungriceman posted a video following the meme in which the line has been edited over a video of Logan Paul getting engaged to his fiance, garnering over 6.7 million views in two days.
