I Was Remodeling X And Found This Behind Y refers to a snowclone used in memes and posts on Reddit's /r/pics subreddit that parody OPs (original posters) who allege to have found something like a safe, puzzle box or ancient device when looking behind something, remodeling their house or renovating, only to then ghost the subreddit and its Redditors who want to know what's inside the device. If the OP ghosts them, then they are inferred to be lying about their discovery. Parody posts were levied to /r/pics in February 2023, following one Redditor who claimed to have found a safe underneath outdoor flooring when remodeling a 90-year-old $6,000,000 house in Los Angeles.
