侵略「ススメ☆ ULT

About

Shinryaku no Susume☆ (Japanese: 侵略ノススメ☆) is an opening theme song of a Japanese TV anime series for a manga Shinryaku Ika Musume!! (English Title: Squid Girl) written by Masahiro Anbe.[1] This song became a popular resource for parody videos on the Japanese video sharing service Nico Nico Douga (NND) in the late 2010 due to a large popularity of the anime series among Japanese anime otakus.

Origin

This song is an opening theme song for the 1st season of the TV anime series aired from October to December in 2010.

In addition to the cuteness of this song, it got an attention among anime otakus from another point of view soon after the anime began to be aired because its lyrics, based on Japanese traditional "Dempa Song" style, was able to be read as a story of participator of Comic Market[2] at Tokyo Big Sight[3] and also included many jargon terms among Doujin comic circles. This topic was covered by several weblogs[4][5] and internet news sites.[6][7]

Spread

This high-speed and up-lifting tune was soon introduced into fan creations for Ika musume and became one of the most popular subjects. People have created remixes, mashups, parodies and MAD videos of this song and been posting them to NND since late 2010.

The amount of those videos on NND had reached over 500 in its first year, and is still increasing.[8]
