About

Imma YouTube Channels, refers to a group of YouTubers whom upload clips of a specific character or show (typically a cartoon or anime). Many of these accounts have since been closed by either the creator or for copyright strikes. Those that still exist are usually inactive.

Origin

On March 10, 2009, the YouTube channel ImmaVegeta was created. That same day ImmaVegeta uploaded his first video (shown below).

Online Presence

Over the next several years many new "Imma" YouTube accounts would be created. 2011 saw an influx in the amount of these accounts. On February 25, 2011, the channel IMMAPlCCOLO was created. The channel's most viewed video has over 800,000 views as of June 2015 (shown below left). On April 2, 2011, the channel ImmaSeru was created, whose most viewed video has over 900,000 views (shown below right).

Other, less notable, channels also appeared during this time. Many of these accounts have remained inactive for 2 or more years.

The imma channels would regularly partake in collaborations between several themselves in the same vein as collabs between YouTube Poop producers. These were mainly headed by YouTuber ImmaKrillin, whose channel has since been terminated.

Aside from their presence on YouTube, the immas had both a community wiki[1] as well as a community forum, which no longer exists.

In the summer of 2012, a combination of new YouTube website designs, such as the removal of visible tags, along with a surge in copyright claims by content ID owners, lead the immas into a lasting decline in usage and popularity. By early 2013, there was almost no community interaction left between the immas. On December 12, 2012, YouTuber ElongatedVowels uploaded a video describing his thoughts on the community (shown below).
