Omega Shenron as a Teacher is a series of memes imagining the Dragon Ball character Omega Shenron as a teacher in a school filled with other Dragon Ball characters. The format is inspired by a meme from a dream by Redditor u/Esagonoso about Shenron being unable to kill Goku and Vegeta while on a bus. The original meme was posted to Reddit in late January 2025 and became the subject of further memes in early February on sites including X / Twitter, Instagram and the /r/Ningen subreddit.

Origin

On January 29th, 2025, Redditor u/Esagonoso made a post to /r/thomastheplankengine^[1] and /r/Ningen,^[2] a Dragon Ball shitposting subreddit, sharing a meme they made that was based on a dream they had. The post title reads, "I dreamed that Omega Shenron from Dragon Ball GT was unable to kill Goku and Vegeta while they were in a bus. This hurt him so much that he stopped being evil and became a teacher in my school." The meme depicts Shenron unable to kill Goku and Vegeta, then teaching in a classroom, saying to the class, "In my 10 days of teaching I've never seen a class this bad." The post gained over 500 upvotes on the former subreddit and 6,000 on the latter in a week.

On January 30th, 2025, X^[3] user @Extralongdokkan reposted the meme, writing, "Average Dragon Ball what if," garnering over 36,000 likes in six days. On February 1st, Instagram^[4] user zoltikdb posted a meme inspired by the post by u/Esagonoso showing Shenron screaming in front of a class, captioned, "Substitute dawg," garnering over 13,000 likes in four days. It was reported by X^[5] user @Extralongdokkan the next day, garnering over 19,000 likes in three days.

On February 3rd, X^[6] user @Extralongdokkan posted a version of the meme where Shenron tells Goku and Trunks to get to class, garnering over 26,000 likes in two days. It was posted to /r/Ningen^[7] that day, garnering over 1,300 upvotes in the same span of time.

On February 4th, Redditor u/ZoltikDB posted a meme to /r/Ningen^[8] in which Shenron catches Dende getting high in the school bathroom and sends him to the principal's office, garnering over 3,300 upvotes in a day.

Later that day, X^[9] user @cChainmailDd_ posted a sequel to the meme by u/ZoltikDB, showing Dende getting scolded for getting high in the bathroom by Broly, the principal, garnering over 26,000 likes in a day.
