The post received over 29,000 likes and over 5,100 reposts in two weeks. In addition, the image has been reposted to several other social media sites such as Reddit.^[2]

Spread

Over the following weeks, artists on social media redrew the image with various characters. For example, on September 23rd, 2024, user @chaibumbles^[3] redrew the original dog, gaining over 24,000 retweets and 223,000 likes in two weeks.

On September 24th, Twitter user @Laenarra^[4] posted a variation featuring Link and Zelda from The Legend of Zelda series, gaining over 5,600 retweets and 64,000 likes in the same time frame.
