On September 25th, 2023, TikToker^[1] @444pray, real name Prayag, posted a clip saying, "I'm always gonna like your story even if we stop talking. The problem was never how you look; it's the way you act, act, act." Prayag delivered the last line with an accompanying shoulder shimmy and pointed fingers. The post gathered over 21 million views and 4 million likes in two weeks (seen below).

On October 1st, 2023, @444pray posted another clip,^[2] this time providing instructions for how to best do his "it's the way you act, act" shoulder shimmy dance. The clip gathered over 7 million views, 1 million likes, and became the predominant video used in subsequent memes and reaction clips (seen below).

On October 6th, 2023, TikToker^[3] @shxthailey posted a video using @444pray's video, gathering over 5 million plays and 1.2 million likes (seen below, left). Also on October 6th, TikToker^[4] @shinjishalo posted a video using @444pray's clip, gathering over 4.8 million plays and 1.2 million likes (seen below, right).

In October 2023, the video made its way to X, with X^[5] user @V8W2Y6 joking about the video being "what ur coworkers will show you expecting you to laugh," on October 10th, 2023, gathering over 80,000 likes in a day.
