About

Jon Arbuckle Gaming, also known as "Did You Really Think You Could Defeat Me, Wretched Fool?" is an exploitable meme taken from an episode of The Garfield Show. The meme uses an overlay of Jon Arbuckle playing at his computer as if he were a a streamer.

Origin

The exploitable scene comes from The Garfield Show episode titled "Virtualodeon", which first aired on April 20th, 2009, in France and on December 10th, 2009, in the United States.[1] In the episode (shown below) Garfield and Odie are watching TV while Jon is playing games on his computer upstairs. They change the channel to one where Professor Bonkers introduces a means to where the viewer can experience what is happening on the TV set at the time, and changes the channel to the fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk, which causes a giant beanstalk to grow out of the screen of the TV set and causes the TV to tip over on its back. The beanstalk continues to grow and breaks through the ceiling past where Jon is playing his computer games while he says to his computer screen "Did you really think you can defeat me, wretched fool?". The episode was uploaded to YouTube on October 14th, 2016, where it received over 1 million views in over seven years.
