About
Kronii Meme Coin or $KRONII is a nonexistent parody meme coin created by VTuber Ouro Kronii as a joke during a January 2025 livestream. During the stream, Kronii pretended to launch a cryptocurrency called $KRONII or Kronii coin, using nonsense crypto jargon throughout the stream. The stream inspired memes, including artwork of YouTube thumbnails that might come out if the coin was real and found to be a pump and dump, rug pull or other scam and memes about other VTubers losing money on the coin. After the stream, some people purportedly took advantage of the situation and made Kronii coins, although none of these are official or endorsed by Ouro Kronii. The parody coin was inspired by an incident that same month when Kronii's YouTube channel was hacked to promote a crypto coin.

On January 20th, 2025, VTuber Ouro Kronii made a post to X / Twitter[1] announcing the launch of $KRONII, said to be a meme coin based on the VTuber, garnering over 21,000 likes and 2,500 reposts in a day. Some fans of the streamer believed that her account had been hacked to promote a scam coin.
The post links to her YouTube[2] channel, which hosted a satirical livestream announcing and hyping up the coin. The stream clearly stated, "Don't take this seriously, this is satire," in the bottom right corner. Throughout the stream, Ouro Kronii rambles about the coin, using nonsense jargon to hype it up. The stream gained over 279,000 views in a day.

The stream and idea of $KRONII inspired memes over the following days, including posts by people pretending to have lost large sums of money to the coin and parodies of YouTube thumbnails about the coin post-scam.
For example, on January 20th, 2025, X[3] user @DoomSteve posted a parody Coffeezilla thumbnail (a YouTuber known for his content exposing and investigating crypto scams) that garnered over 4,100 likes in a day.
On January 21st, X[4] user @ posted a version of the Ouhhh… Husbant meme referencing the loss of money due to investing in $KRONII, garnering over 7,100 likes in under a day.
Also on January 21st, 2025, a post was made to the subreddit /r/Hololive[5] warning users about unofficial, unendorsed coins using the name $KRONII, urging users not to invest in them, garnering over 5,000 upvotes in under a day.
