Overview
Nothing Coin is a meme coin cryptocurrency inspired by the concept of "nothing," using a blanked out ticker symbol. The coin gained viral attention in early December 2024 after the X user @SHL0MS announced the Eliza AI tool was being integrated to manage the content of the prominent meme and gimmick accounts, @god (God) and @s8n (Satan). The promotion of Nothing Coin heavily utilizes notable memes and reaction images, often edited to reflect themes of nothingness.
History
On October 18th, 2024, the "Nothing Coin" community was created on X[1] by user @SHL0MS. A post was uploaded to the community on the same day (seen below), highlighting a single rule saying "all posts must be completely blank." The post (seen below) amassed more than 25,000 views and 155 likes in three months.
Meme Coin and Market Performance
According to a Reddit post by user u/Gnxzz,[2] Nothing Coin's whitepaper contains "just one word: nothing. No team, no roadmap, no product. Just nothing. Yet, surprisingly, the community has been drawn to this blank concept." Shl0ms, the coins creator, was known for a previous project in which a Lamborghini was destroyed and split into 999 NFTs. The stunt allegedly generated approximately $1M in transactions and positioned the coin as a conceptual art piece rather than a typical cryptocurrency.
The post (seen below) amassed roughly 11 upvotes and 10 comments since its upload on November 24th, 2024.
Despite lacking a defined purpose or traditional roadmap, the coin surged to a $172 million market cap[3] within just one month of its inception as of December 2024, according to Dexscreener.
@God And @S8n Meme Coin
On December 4th, 2024, the X gimmick accounts, @god (God) and @s8n[4] (Satan) posted cryptic blank tweets, which were later revealed by @SHL0MS to be a partnership to manage the meme accounts with the aid of the Eliza AI tool. The tweet[5] (seen below) amassed over 243,000 views and 711 likes in two weeks.
Online Presence
The Nothing Coin has fostered a community centered around its abstract premise, with an emphasis on popular memes to encompass the concept of "nothing" and mystery, drawing crypto enthusiasts curious about its potential. For instance, on December 5th, 2024, X[6] user @SHL0MS posted a blank Times Magazine cover (seen below), which garnered more than 100,000 views and 604 likes in two weeks.
On December 3rd, 2024, X[7] user @0xstateoftheart posted a blank version of the Kanye West Holding Notepad exploitable meme (seen below), which received roughly 712 views and 46 likes in two weeks.
