About
Let's Meet Up and Die is a threat made by rapper Soulja Boy to fellow rapper Blueface in an Instagram Live from early January 2024. The full quote reads, "Let’s die, let’s meet up and die. Let’s die. ASAP. Let’s meet right now. Whenever you see this Live, DM me the addy. Let’s shoot it up, let’s shoot it out." The text subsequently became a phrasal template on Twitter / X with the text typically altered to more wholesome ends.
Origin
On January 6th, 2024, Soulja Boy addressed Blueface about their beef in an Instagram Live. During the Live, he appeared to invite Blueface to a shootout, saying, "Let’s die, let’s meet up and die. Let’s die. ASAP. Let’s meet right now. Whenever you see this Live, DM me the addy. Let’s shoot it up, let’s shoot it out." The clip was posted to Twitter by @mymixtapez[1] that day, gaining over 450 retweets and 1,900 likes in four days (shown below).

The quote became more well-known after it was tweeted by Complex[2] on January 8th, gaining over 3,100 retweets and 9,600 likes in three days (shown below).
Spread
After Complex tweeted the quote, it then became a snowclone on Twitter, usually with people replacing the threat with more wholesome actions. For example, on January 10th, 2024, Twitter user @pwiscila[3] tweaked the quote to be about marriage, gaining over 700 retweets and 4,100 likes in one day (shown below, left). On January 9th, user @i1i1NO[4] replaced it with "kiss," gaining over 3,000 retweets and 17,000 likes in two days (shown below, right).
On January 10th, Twitter user @mira__joyce[5] amended the quote with Live, laugh, love, gaining over 20 retweets and 220 likes in one day (shown below, left). The same day, user @boywaif[6] tweaked it with "cry," gaining over 20 retweets and 130 likes (shown below, right).
