About

Lil Nas X ‘President’ of League of Legends refers to a partnership between the American rapper Lil Nas X with Riot Games to help promote the League Of Legends 2022 World Championship. As ‘President’ of the game, the rapper will co-design a new champion skin, create the theme song for the championship and perform at the finals later in 2022.

Origin

On September 15th, 2022, the rapper Lil Nas X announced that he became the new 'President'[1] of League of Legends (or "LoL"), the free-to-play MOBA (Multiplayer Online-Based Arena) game. The rapper will create a champion skin and the official theme song for the 2022 world tournament, STAR WALKIN, which it's expected to premiere on September 23rd, 2022. The promotional video of the announcement was shared by the game's official Twitter account, @LeagueOfLegends[2], which changed its name to "LoLNasX", receiving 1.2 million views in 4 hours.

This is not the first time Lil Nas X collaborated with the E-Games industry. In 2021, he worked with American esports organization 100 Thieves[3] ahead of last year’s League of Legends World Championship.

Spread

Lil Nas X's announcement made his fans and the LoL enthusiasts post memes theorizing about the new music and champion skin. The rapper also posted[4] on September 15th, 2022, that he wants to add "furry skins to League of Legends" (shown below). He also joked he would ban "bottoms" from playing League.
