About
Listening To Limp Bizkit And Drinking Four Loko In The Taco Bell Parking Lot is a catchphrase and concept referenced in memes that started on Instagram in early 2019. The trend picked up traction going into 2022 with memes being shared on other platforms like Twitter, iFunny and TikTok, among others.
Origin
Although the alcoholic beverage Four Loko and the rock band Limp Bizkit had been referenced together on Twitter[1][2] as early as late 2010, the catchphrase wasn't officially coined until 2019 on Instagram. On March 8th, 2019, Instagram[3] account worstigaccount posted a meme that captioned an image of Ron Swanson saying, "This is my hell," with, "When you're at a 'party' but there's no Four Loko and the DJ doesn't have any Limp Bizkit." The meme (shown below) received roughly 6,600 likes over the course of three years.
Spread
On July 26th, 2019, worstigaccount[4] posted another meme that used the Because Your Mother Loves Roses template, earning 12,300 likes, also over the course of three years (shown below).
On August 17th, 2020, iFunnier[5] Mantiddiez posted a meme that referenced the concept, receiving 13 smiles over two years and effectively spreading the trend to iFunny (shown below).
Instagram account worstigaccount continued to reference the concept within their posts throughout 2020, 2021 and 2022. For instance, on December 3rd, 2020, worstigaccount[6] posted a meme using the likeness of the Doomer and the Doomer Girl getting married. The meme (shown below) received roughly 3,800 likes over the course of two years. It was also reposted to Facebook[7] on the same day by the page Egotastic! where it received 13 reactions, also over the course of two years.
On July 23rd, 2021, worstigaccount[8] posted another meme that used a quote from Princess Diana as a starting point for its punchline. The meme (shown below) received roughly 7,400 likes over the course of five months.
The meme above was reposted to Twitter[9] by user OrwellNGoode on January 16th, 2022, where it earned roughly 15,800 likes in less than one day. However, before this Twitter repost, the meme was trending on TikTok. On January 13th, TikTok[10] account thecirclepit posted a video that used worstigaccount's meme, adding a Limp Bizkit track as its audio. The video (shown below) received roughly 44,900 plays and 5,400 likes over the course of four days, as well as a repost to Instagram.[11]
