The video was posted to Instagram in early February 2024 and went viral across social media, becoming a redraw meme template that month after it was posted to X / Twitter with the prompt, "draw your ocs like this idk."

Origin

On February 4th, 2024, Instagram^[1] user and fitness influencer the_peachking21, aka Kevin, posted a comedy video captioned "Girl almost gets stuck under the weight on leg press." In the video, a girl, the influencer's partner, acts as if she's tired while working on the leg press. Kevin approaches the machine and sits directly on her face to lift the weight himself. The video gained over 980,000 likes in roughly two weeks (shown below).

Spread

The video gained viral spread over the following days. On February 7th, 2024, it was reposted by X^[2] user @Alphafox78, writing, "The world needs more heroes," garnering over 82,000 likes in a week. On the same day, it was posted to /r/UnusualVideos,^[3] garnering over 1,100 upvotes in the same span of time.

Also that day, X^[4] user @pecsOTD quote-reposted his own post responding to the video, writing, "draw your ocs like this idk," garnering over 13,000 likes and 2,500 reposts in eight days (shown below).

The post inspired numerous redraws of the frame over the following days, replacing the people in the video with either OC characters or characters from other fandoms. For example, on February 7th, 2024, X^[5] user @Miles_Mandel posted a Metal Gear Solid redraw that gained over 18,000 likes in a week (shown below, left).

On February 9th, X^[6] user @binuba_ posted a Team Fortress 2 redraw that gained over 5,100 likes in six days (shown below, right).
