The Matcha Filter or Wild Heart Whisper Filter, also known as the Matcha Filter Trend, is a TikTok filter that makes the subject of a video look psychedelic by turning them into different shades of green and black, roughly resembling matcha green tea.

The filter went viral in mid-August 2026 as the subject of a trend set to a remix of the Filipino song "Halik Sobrang Diin part two" by Gat Putch Louie Grammz and Mi’Kel, in which TikToker @shanbatumbakalll has added guitar to the track.

The trend inspired controversy as some TikTokers reportedly began using it to post their genitals or flash their breasts without being caught by the app's automatic moderation. This inspired fake-out videos where it appears as if the TikToker is going to flash their breasts, but does not.

On August 1st, 2026, TikToker^[1] @recaswt posted a video using a so-called "Matcha Filter" that makes her look psychedelic and matcha-colored, garnering over 19.2 million views in about two weeks. The video is set to a May 2026 video by TikToker^[2] @shanbatumbakalll, in which he adds a guitar track to the song "Halik Sobrang Diin part two."

The Matcha filter was popularized throughout August 2026 under the same original sound. Most videos following the trend are selfie videos.

For example, on August 2nd, 2026, TikToker^[3] @lianjxy posted a video following the trend that gained over 212,000 likes in two weeks.

On August 4th, The Tab^[4] published an article claiming that some TikTokers were using the filter to post their genitals and hide from the app's auto-moderation.

On August 12th, TikToker^[5] @josephine_cezar posted a video following the trend that gained over 373,000 likes in six days.

On August 13th, 2026, TikToker^[6] @xbus2605252275 posted a fake-out video where it appears as though she's going to flash her breasts, but does not, garnering over 41,000 likes in five days.
