LATEST UPDATE: Although this was indeed a meme, it apparently was a short-lived one. Facebook deleted the page some time on May 15, 2010. Some people, however, are trying to start this thing up again We'll see where this goes.
UPDATE: It has been suggested that this is the Meow Mix song.
For the lulz:
ANOTHER UPDATE: The rate at which this page is growing is ridiculous. About 30,000 new fans in the past 5 hours. (5:31 PM – 10:41 PM on May 11, 2010)
Recently on Facebook, there has been a change where now common words and phrases that people post on their profiles are archived and uploaded to new pseudo-fan pages. These fan page's word's are created whenever someone adds a set of words to their profile under the "Activities" or "Interests" category.
For no apparent reason, multiple people, thousands, have added the words "meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow" to either their "Activities" or "Interest" tab on their personal Facebook page. It should be noted that "meow meow meow (meow x32)" is not a "Page" in the traditional of sense of Facebook, but rather, a "community" page that nobody actually "owns" or is an administrator of.
Anyway, people are flocking to it at a ridiculous exponential rate, and their really isn't a clear reason why people are saying their activities are "meow meow meow", much less saying it 32 times. This is something, and, I'm afraid, it's a meme.
Reference: This pic was taken at 5:31 PM (Central) on May 11, 2010. Compare the fan numbers to what they are right now:
(Note: Obviously this needs a whole lot of help. I don't use HTML that often and I just joined this site, even though I've been lurking here for months. But this definitely is a happening as people are INDIVIDUALLY adding these exact sets of words to their profile and it is being linked back to that particular page +280K times.)
