Michael Does Life's "Oh No!" is a viral video of YouTuber and streamer Michael Does Life emitting a guttural scream, grasping his head and saying "Oh no!" In May 2023, the clip gained virality as a video caption meme format and reaction.

Origin

On May 1st, 2023, YouTuber^[1] Michael Does Life, also known as Starfield Is Life, streamed the first-person shooter video game Redfall. During the stream, Michael tested if the windows of a car can be broken by shooting at them, finding out that not only they cannot be broken, but also that two shots at a car are enough for it to ignite and explode. Michael reacted to the discovery by emitting a guttural scream, grasping his head and saying "Oh no!" (clip starts at the 40:38 mark, shown below).

On May 2nd, Michael Does Life then uploaded the clip as a YouTube Short.^[7]

On May 18th, TikToker^[2] @wrinklynuts posted a video caption meme using the clip, captioning the video "me after 6 hours in the bar remembering my 2 year old son has been in the car in the blazing heat." The post (shown below) garnered over 7.7 million views and 1.5 million likes in one month.

On May 19th, 2023, iFunny^[3] user Gloomge reposted the meme, with the post gaining over 20,300 smiles in one month.

On TikTok, the soundbite has been used as source material for memes as users lip dubbed the clip and added humorous captions. For example, on May 23rd, 2023, TikToker^[4] worley_cd posted an X Majors When They Have Y Due meme that gained over 3.6 million views and 560,000 likes in one month (shown below, left). On June 5th, TikToker^[5] @weeb11836 posted a meme referencing the Peni Parker Is an Evangelion Character Theory that received over 584,900 views and 39,200 likes in three weeks (shown below, right).

On May 25th, 2023, Twitter^[6] user @ReplyDog_ shared an Oppenposting meme using the format that received over 940 retweets and 7,300 likes on the website in one month (shown below).
