Motorcyclist Middle-Fingering Cyclists refers to a photo depicting a motorcyclist giving the middle finger to a group of bicyclists who blocked the road, making it so that other vehicles couldn't pass. In May of 2021, the photo began seeing use as an object labeling and exploitable meme.
Origin
On May 27th, 2021, Instagram user @gaya.bersepeda uploaded photos of cyclists from the Go Show cyclist community passing through a road in Jakarta, Indonesia. One of the photos shows a motorcyclist giving the middle finger to the cyclists who blocked the road while they were riding. The post was removed, but on the same day, Twitter[1] user @samartemaram reposted the photo. The tweet received more than 14,800 likes and 5,100 retweets (shown below).

The photo has been reposted to several platforms such as Twitter[2], Reddit [3], and Facebook[4]. According to Indonesian media outlet Pikiran Rakyat[8], the Go Show cyclist community posted on their Instagram clarification about why it looks like they are blocking the road and accused the motorcyclist of blocking them first (shown below, left). The same day, Instagram user @luckybw uploaded the same clarification post. Both of the posts have been removed. On May 27th, 2021, Facebook page[5] Kobayogas.com Blog reposted @luckybw's clarification post. The post received more than 1,600 reactions and 1,300 shares (shown below, right).
The photo was proved controversial, leading to multiple posts poking fun at the incident. For example, on May 28th, 2021, Facebook[6] user Why Ywndn uploaded a meme showing cyclists that was edited to show a Mini 4WD track to Komunitas Mini 4WD Indonesia. The post received more than 600 reactions (shown below, left). The next day, Facebook[7] page Fake News Indonesia uploaded fake news about the motorcyclist, saying he was actually supporting the cyclists by giving a thumbs up instead of the middle finger. The post received more than 1,400 reactions and 300 shares (shown below, right).
