Mueller Report Redactions as Fashion refers to a series of social media posts that compare articles of clothing to the images of the reacted Mueller Report, a 448-page document explaining the findings of a 2-year investigation into the "Russian government's interference" into the 2016 United States Presidential election":/memes/events/russian-interference-in-the-2016-united-states-presidential-election and allegations of obstruction of justice by U.S. President Donald Trump. The meme uses the Celebrities as Things format.
Origin
On April 18th, 2019, the U.S. Department of Justice made a redacted version public. Following its release, many online made jokes about the number of redactions in the document, such as the Harm to Ongoing Matter meme.
That day, Twitter [1] user @dannynett posted "THREAD: mueller report redactions as red carpet looks." The initial post in the thread received more than 14,000 retweets and 39,000 likes in 24 hours. They followed the post with an image of a redacted page to an image of actress Emma Watson (shown below).
