My Dad Is Pursuing a Career In Modeling is a copypasta spawned from a tweet in which a person showed pictures of their father, who at 45 was beginning to pursue a career in modeling and had never been happier. The text of the tweet became a copypasta with which people paired images of various male celebrities.

On March 28th, 2019, Twitter user @coolcat_collin^[1] posted pictures of his father with the caption, "My dad is 45, pursuing a modeling career, and I’ve never seen him happier. He told me he’s just waiting for a chance to blow up. So, Twitter, meet my dad." The tweet gained over 80,000 retweets and 369,000 likes (shown below).

Spread

Many of the replies to the tweet expressed attraction to the dad. For example, user @_ikethefirst^[2] posted a Peter Parker Reading a Book image that gained over 70 retweets and 2,300 likes (shown below, left). User @dchomos^[3] posted a GIF of Donna from Parks and Recreation, gaining over 60 retweets and 2,100 likes (shown below, right).

Other Twitter users turned the tweet into a copypasta and added pictures of celebrities to fit their joke. For example, user @MelodyKloepfer^[4] tweeted pictures of Barack Obama with the copypasta, gaining over 1,000 retweets and 7,600 likes (shown below, left). User @nocontextjohno^[5] tweeted the copypasta with John Oliver, gaining over 240 retweets and 2,000 likes (shown below, right). The meme was covered by Twitter Moments^[6] and Junkee.^[7]
