The "No Type" Challenge is a TikTok dance and lip dub challenge and trend set to the song "No Type" by Rae Sremmurd where one participant holds another upside down over the back, lip-syncs to the song, then turns around and lets the person on the back continue the lip-sync.

The trend began in July 2021 on TikTok. It had a resurgence in popularity between May and September 2026.

Origin

On July 5th, 2021, TikToker[1] @iamkelianne posted a video where two people lip-sync to "No Type" by Rae Sremmurd. The one participant holds the other upside down on their back. The woman holding the man lip-syncs first, then turns and lets the man finish lip syncing the song. The video gained over 627,000 likes in five years and is one of the earliest known examples of the trend.

Spread

The trend continued to go viral in 2021 and had a resurgence in 2026.

On May 1st, 2026, TikToker[2] @sarkoco posted a video where he pretends to the trend with Judy Hopps from Zootopia, garnering over 434,000 likes in four months.

On August 30th, 2026, TikToker[3] @tjtdanii posted a video of several people doing the trend, garnering over 380,000 likes in two weeks.
