Oh No, I Just Dropped This Supercool Picture Of My Dog refers to a panel from the Spy X Family manga series in which a girl intentionally drops her family photo with the aim of attracting attention. The cropped panel gained popularity in early May 2021 as an exploitable similar to the Magnum Dong meme.

Origin

On April 20th, 2020, the 25th chapter of the Spy X Family manga^[1] series was released. In the chapter, the character Anya Forger drops her family photo on purpose so she can show off her dog (shown below, left). On May 4th, 2020, Twitter^[2] user @jeffinitelyjeff uploaded an exploitable variation of the cropped panel to parody Instagram users showing off their things. The tweet received 97 likes and 17 retweets (shown below, right).

Spread

The panel gained popularity over the following year as people used it in various memes. For example, on October 15th, 2020, Reddit^[3] user MICOSAM uploaded a comparison between the image and the Magnum Dong meme to /r/SpyxFamily subreddit. The post received more than 1,200 points (shown below, left). On May 1st, 2021, Reddit^[4] user the_hornt uploaded an edit that changed the text to "Oh no, I just dropped this supercool volume of my manga" to the same subreddit. The post received more than 1,300 points in four months (shown below, right).

In early August 2021, the format began growing popular outside of the Spy X Family community. For example, on August 3rd, 2021, Twitter^[5] user @hourlyraiden uploaded an edit in which Anya shows off her "5 star character named Raiden Shogun" from Genshin Impact. The tweet received more than 1,900 likes and 315 retweets (shown below, left). On August 17th, Reddit^[6] user Ryujinxed uploaded the same format showing off Genshin Impact characters to /r/Genshin_Memepact subreddit. The post received 2,500 points (shown below, center). On September 1st, 2021, Facebook^[7] page Genshin Memes reposted @hourlyraiden's tweet. The post received more than 4,700 reactions and 1,200 shares (shown below, right).
