Oscar Proud Running refers to a scene from the 2005 animated film The Proud Family Movie in which character Oscar Proud is chasing a car. In late April 2020, the scene earned recognition in humorous edits on Twitter and iFunny.

Origin

On August 19th, 2005, animated film The Proud Family Movie premiered.[1] In one scene of the film, character Oscar Proud is running after a car driving his daughter Penny Proud to a rehearsal.

On April 26th, 2020, Twitter[2] user @EightBitArt posted the clip, writing "Was watching The Proud Family Movie and I completely lost it at this scene." The tweet received over 8,200 retweets and 32,200 likes, with the video gaining over 235,000 views in five days (shown below).

In the thread, multiple users responded with humorous edits in which the clip was set to various music. On April 26th Twitter[3] user @noveltymotel posted the first such edit based on "Lose Control" by Missy Elliott (shown below). The edit received over 1,000 retweets and 4,000 likes.

Edits by Twitter users @Gaberooski,[4] @Z33n_ZEPPELI[5] and @stevenposting[6] posted in the same thread received over 2,300 likes, 880 likes and 1,000 likes, respectively (example shown below). Twitter[7] user @GSoniicar posted a Same Energy meme comparing the clip to Running Officer Earl meme, with the tweet gaining over 170 retweets and 1,400 likes in five days.

On April 28th, iFunny[8] user ONE_THICC_BITCH reposted the meme to the app, gaining over 1,400 smiles in three days. Starting on the same day, multiple iFunny users posted meme based on the clip; for example, on April 28th iFunny[9] user Radicunt posted an edit set to "Dangerous Diner Map" from Kirby's Return to Dream Land which received over 2,800 smiles in three days (shown below, left). On April 29th iFunny[10] user JohnnyTesticles posted a Face-off! meme comparing the scene to Carl's walking animation from Aqua Teen Hunger Force; the video received over 1,100 smiles in three days (shown below, right).
