Charli XCX is the stage name of British singer, songwriter and actress Charlotte Emma Aitchison.[1] Born in Cambridge, England, and raised in Start Hill, Essex, she released her first album at the age of 14.[2] Charli is known for her experimental approach to pop music and online presence.
Online History
Between 2008 and 2009, Charli XCX began promoting her new music on her official Myspace page.[3] Her stage name was taken from the MSN Messenger display name she used when she was younger.[4] While Charli was well known on Stan Twitter and other music-oriented spheres online, she exploded into the mainstream with the release of her 2024 album Brat, which spawned several memes and dance trends.
