In late July 2024, memes using the copypasta caption, "Charli: You wanna guess the color of my underwear? | Billie:" followed by an image representing either Billie Eilish's reaction to the question or depicting the underwear.

Origin

"Guess" was originally released on June 10th, 2024 on the deluxe edition of Charli XCX's album Brat. In late July 2024, it was reported that Charli XCX would release a remix of the song with a mystery feature that many hypothesized was Billie Eilish.^[1] The song was released on August 1st (shown below).

The lyrics "you wanna guess the color of my underwear" became the subject of memes the day the song was released. For example, on June 10th, 2024, X^[2] user @RlCKYRAGE posted the lyrics over an image from Pen15, garnering over 7,500 likes in two months (shown below).

Spread

On July 31st, 2024, X^[3] user @alfonseaux posted, "Charli: 'Guess the color of my underwear 💦😏' Billie:" above a photo of a plush Goldeen Pokemon meant to represent Eilish, garnering over 46,000 likes in two days (shown below).

The meme continued to spread over the following days. On July 31st, 2024, X^[4] user @eldritchdevil posted the same caption over a video of TikToker @Youcantridemybike lip dubbing the you got a fast car meme, garnering over 59,000 likes in two days (shown below).

On August 1st, X^[5][6] users @eduardissimo and @blizzy_mcguire posted versions of the meme using images of dirty underwear and a screenshot of a TikTok video respectively, garnering over 2,500 likes and 12,000 likes in a day (shown below, left and right).
