About

Da Share Z0ne is a novelty social media collective that uses word art image macros to satirize hyper-masculine memes by juxtaposing intense anger with simple requests or manners (similar to @dril). These memes general feature illustrations of skeletons, fire, motorcycles and other imagery associated with fantasy or the heavy metal music genre/.

History

On September 1st, 2015, @dasharez0ne Twitter ^[1] account launched. On May 13th, 2016, the account posted their first image on Twitter and Facebook, ^[2] which featured a skeleton sitting on a toilet with the caption, "I eat ass holes like you for breakfast… then I shit out ass hole turds." The post received more than 25 reactions and 10 shares on in three years (shown below).

"The Devil's Level" Card Game

On January 22nd, 2018, Da Share Z0ne launched a Kickstarter project for a comedy party card game entitled "The Devil's Level." The game features the work of other prominent online artists and personalities, such as Dril, KC Green and more.^[3] Within one year, the project received more than $225,000 pledged from more than 3,600 backers.

On April 20th, YouTuber admin dasharez0ne published a video trailer for the game. WIthin one year, the post received more than 4,300 views (shown below).

Reputation

Throughout 2016, many writers and social media critics called Da Share Z0ne one of the best social media accounts. The Daily Dot ^[4] called Da Share Z0ne "the best Twitter account of 2016, and it's not even close."

In 2017, Mic^[5] included a tweet^[6] by the account on their list of "101 Canonical Tweet: The best, most influential tweets in Twitter history." Ranking at #90, the tweet they featured was of an image skeleton-shaped mountain with the text "Hey Dyson Air Blade, You talk a lot of shit, but my hands are still noticeably damp." They captioned the tweet, "PAPER TOWLS AINT OVER YET FOLKS DONT BELEIVE THE HYPE." The tweet received more than 5,300 retweets and 12,000 likes in two years (shown below).

Personal Life

Admin

While the identity of the originator behind Da Share Z0ne is unknown, some believe it to be the work of a team of writers and artists. Canonically, within the narrative of Da Share Z0ne, the team is run by a character known as "admin." The character first appeared on the account on February 17th, 2017 in the Twitter^[7] caption "ALLREADY BECOMING A BIT TO FAMILIAR WITH DRIVE THROU LADY -ADMIN." The tweet received more than 1,00 retweets and 2,300 likes in less than two years.

On January 26th, 2018, "Admin" did an interview with Newsweek.^[8] During the interview, they discussed the card game and Da Share Z0ne's aesthetic.

Newsweek: Are you a skeleton, or do you just identify with the image of skeletons?

Admin: Everyone is a skeleton. Think about it.

"Da Share My Wife Z0ne" Rumor

On January 19th, 2019, Twitter^[9] user @nopoweradeinusa tweeted, "apparently a bunch of guys ran the 'da share z0ne' account on here, then one guy flipped out & removed everyone from it because one of them was talking to his wife, anyway point is I've been laughing for the last two days at 'da share my wife z0ne.'" The tweet received more than 2,400 retweets and 16,000 likes in two days (shown below).

Following the post, many online tweeted various jokes and memes about the rumor (shown below). The rumor, however, has yet to be validated.
