About

Flight is the online handle of an American YouTuber Clarence Javelli best known for his basketball, gaming and reaction videos posted on his accounts FlightReacts and NotYourAverageFlight. The intensity of his reactions made FlightReacts a popular subject of memes on YouTube, Instagram, iFunny and other platforms, with his reactions repurposed for humorous effect.

Online History

On July 6th, 2013, YouTuber Clarence "Flight" Javelli posted[1] the earliest video currently available on his main YouTube[1] channel NotYourAverageFlight,[2] a Let's Play of NBA 2K13 (shown below, left). In the following years, Flight continued to post Let's Plays of NBA, Madden, GTA 5 and other games, later diversifying his content to include reaction videos, vlogs and sports videos. As of March 27th, 2020, the channel had over 1 million subscribers.



On September 30th, 2015, Flight launched[3] his second channel, FlightReacts,[4] with the channel becoming the primary outlet for his reaction videos (examples shown below, left nad right). The channel accumulated over 2.9 million subscribers as of March 27th, 2020.

Flight is a friend and a frequent collaborator of YouTuber CashNasty, and has also collaborated with RiceGum and other popular YouTubers.

Reputation

FlightReacts' frequent mistakes during reading various sentences made his reading ability a subject of jokes on YouTube and Twitter. On November 17th, 2019, YouTuber[6] Flight's Plug posted a compilation of Flight making mistakes while reading, with the video accumulating over 190,300 views in five months (shown below, left). On November 29th, 2019, Flight posted a reaction video to his channel FlightReacts,[7] gaining over 219,000 views (shown below, right).



Use In Memes

Starting in September 2017, Flight gained a notable presence in memes, with his reactions to various videos humorously repurposed. On September 20th, 2017. YouTuber MSXBOY posted one of the earliest viral memes using Flight's reaction (known as Flight's Dolphin Laugh). The video, a Hamood Habibi meme, gained over 24.5 million views in three years (shown below).



In the following years, various Flight's reactions such as "dolphin laugh," "no, don't pull" and others gained notable spread online on YouTube, Instagram and iFunny (examples shown below).



Personal Life

Clarence "Flight" Javelli was born on August 7th, 1995, in Washington DC, later moving to West Palm Beach, Florida.[5] Prior to his YouTube career, Javelli worked in the fast food industry.
