CashNasty Punches Laptop refers to a video of YouTuber CashNasty breaking his laptop with a punch. In early July 2019, the video gained popularity in humorous edits on Instagram, with the footage shown on the screen of the laptop replaced with other imagery.

Origin

On February 21st, 2019, YouTuber CashNasty posted a video titled "REACTING TO JESSER AND LSK MEETING LEBRON JAMES BEFORE ME.", at one point of which he damages his laptop by punching it in the screen (shown below).^[1] The video gained over 651,200 views in five months.

Spread

On June 27th, 2019, Instagram user yupanthony posted an edit of the video in which the footage on the screen of the laptop was replaced with a jump scare from Five Nights at Freddy's (shown below).^[2] The post gained over 220,700 views and 34,100 likes in five days.

In the following days, multiple Instagram users posted more edits based on the video, including notable versions by iwillstealallthedankmemes,^[3] butters.mp4,^[4] z3ming,^[5] willmakememes4food^[6] and notkinghill.^[7]
