Ryan Higa, also know by his online handle Nigahiga, is a vlogger and actor known for producing comedy videos on YouTube.

On July 20th, 2006, Higa launched the Nigahiga YouTube channel with friends Sean Fujiyoshi, Tim Enos and Tarynn Nago. Five days later, Higa uploaded a parody martial arts instructional video titled "How to be a ninja" (shown below, left). Within nine years, the video gained over 40.2 million views and 99,000 comments. On November 4th, 2007, Higa released another parody instructional video titled "How to be Gangster," garnering upwards of 42 million views and 89,000 comments in the next eight years (shown below, left). Within eight years, the video garnered upwards (shown below, right).

On November 10th, Higa uploaded a parody Apple commercial titled "The iPod Human," in which Higa performs the role of a portable music player (shown below, left). Over the next eight years, the video received more than 40 million views and 88,000 comments. On August 14th, 2008, Higa released a ninja-themed comedy music video titled "The Ninja Glare," accumulating upwards of 20 million views and 82,000 comments over seven years (shown below, right).

On April 10th, 2009, Higa uploaded a parody ShamWow infomercial titled "The ShamWooHoo!," gaining over 29 million views and 78,000 comments within six years (shown below, left). On March 31st, 2011, Higa posted a comedy music video about nice guys (shown below, right). Over the next four years, the video received more than 61 million views and 181,000 comments.

On March 21st, 2012, Higa posted a music video about intimate male friendships titled "Bromance," which accumulated upwards of 31 million views and 93,000 comments in three years (shown below, left). On May 30th, 2013, Higa released a parody instructional video for singing like various professional artists (shown below, right). In two years, the video received more than 32 million views and 109,000 comments.

On November 14th, 2008, the film Ryan and Sean's Not So Excellent Adventure was released, in which Higa travels to Hollywood to help a movie producer create a hit film (shown below). In August 2009, Higa released a short film titled Ninja Melk, in which a ninja is sent on a mission to find a replacement (shown below, right).

Personal Life

Higa was born on June 6th, 1990 in Hilo, Hawaii. From 2006 to 2010, Higa dated the Nigahiga channel co-founder Tarynn Nago. As of November 2015, Higa lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.
