Pabllo Vittar is a Brazilian singer and songwriter who is known as one of the biggest drag queen performers in the world. In her native country, Brazil, the LGBTQ+ artist has accumulated millions of listeners and fans, who also create numerous memes about the singer.
Career
Born Phabullo Rodrigues da Silva[1] on November 1st, 1993, the Brazilian singer known as Pabllo Vittar started to gain recognition in 2015 with the release of the song “Open Bar” (a cover of Lean on by Major Lazer & DJ Snake feat MØ). The official music video, uploaded to her official YouTube[2] channel on October 8th, 2015, has garnered 76 million views and 767,000 likes as of April 2023 (seen below).
The drag queen reached the mainstream in 2017, releasing her first album “Vai Passar Mal,” produced by the international musician Diplo. The music video[3] for the single "Corpo Sensual," released on September 7th, 2017, has garnered 337 million views and 3 million likes in six years (seen below).
On April 16th, 2022, Pabllo Vittar became the first drag queen to perform on stage at the 2022 Coachella festival. The Twitter[4] account @charlixcxpt posted a clip of the Brazilian’s performance, garnering 16,900 views and 947 likes in one year (seen below).

Vittar is one of the most followed drag queen artists on social media. As of April 2023, she has accumulated 12.8 million followers on Instagram,[5] 2.2 million followers on Facebook,[6] and 3.7 million followers on Twitter.[7]
Vai Passar Mal
A billboard promoting the drag queen’s concert on September 20th, 2017, became an ironic meme on social media, as writing on the banner could be interpreted as “Pabllo Vittar will pass out on September 20th at 5 p.m.” Every year, in September, Twitter users look forward to a post by singer Pabllo Vittar at 5 p.m. announcing that she is well and not sick. Twitter[8] user @pabllopiranha shared the image of the billboard on September 20th, 2021, garnering 11,000 likes and 5,800 retweets in two years (seen below).
Pabllo Vittar Foi Longe Demais (Pabllo Vittar Has Gone Too Far)
The singer’s popularity in Brazil led to several fake news articles and rumors involving her name being spread on social media. On August 2018, a rumor went viral saying that Pabllo Vittar would be the Vice President alongside Lula for the Presidential campaign and that her face would be added to the 50 Reais note. The candidate at the time, Lula,[9] commented on the news on August 6th, 2018, saying that it was fake and showing the real Vice President in the campaign. The post garnered 48,300 likes and 36,200 retweets in five years (seen below).
Block Da Pabllo
Pabllo Vittar’s relationship with her fanbase sometimes is controversial. On March 31st, 2023, a fan of the singer posted a Twitter thread exposing some alleged treatment received from her staff during a concert (post unavailable). In response, the drag queen blocked the fan on Twitter, enraging other fans, who started to create hoaxes about the singer. The “block da Pabllo” meme became a trending topic on the platform, with posts, like one by Twitter[10] user @vittardix, creating an image macro for the trend. The tweet (seen below), uploaded on April 2nd, 2023, received 33,700 likes and 2,400 retweets in a week.
Personal Life
Born in São Luís, Maranhão, Brazil, on November 1st, 1993, Phabullo Rodrigues da Silva has unprecedented success as a drag queen musical artist and brought a lot of visibility to other drag artists in Brazil, as well as trans artists.[11] She is also well known for her activism in favor of the rights of LGBTQIA+ people, being cited by Vice[12] magazine as “the most popular drag queen in the world,” and by Time magazine[13] as one of the “Leaders of the Next Generation.”
