About

Pro-Life Spiderman, real name Maison Des Champs, is an American pro-life activist who climbs skyscrapers and other tall buildings without ropes, harnesses or protective equipment (known as free climbing) to raise money and awareness for anti-abortion causes. His climbs of several famous buildings in American cities, along with the Las Vegas Sphere in February 2024, led to increased online attention in the 2020s.

Career

Maison Des Champs works with the organization Let Them Live, which offers financial assistance and emotional support to women considering abortions in hopes of persuading them not to abort. Des Champs' climbs fundraise for the organization and are often oriented around helping a specific, named woman.[1]

Des Champs' Instagram profile shows engagement with anti-lockdown protests and other right-wing political events in 2021, as well as many photos of rock climbing. He appears to have started his practice of climbing tall buildings free solo to support anti-abortion causes in the spring of 2022.[3] The earliest post on his TikTok describing an ascent of a building dates from May 5th, 2022 (seen below).[4] Since then, he has climbed several buildings including the Accenture Tower in Chicago and the Salesforce Tower in San Francisco.

Des Champs notably appeared on Tucker Carlson's Fox News show on February 14th, 2023 (seen below), following his summit of the Chase Tower, telling the Fox News host that "abortion is murder." When Carlson asked if Des Champs really raised a lot of money from his climbs, he replied, "I raise money every time, especially by coming on your show, Tucker."[2]

Las Vegas Sphere Climb

On February 7th, 2024, Des Champs was identified as the person climbing the Las Vegas Sphere. [9] In a video posted to Instagram on February 7th, Des Champs said he was "here on top of the sphere," the point of the climb was to raise money for a mother considering an abortion and "big thanks, praise be to God." The post (seen below) received over 2,500 likes in two hours on the 7th.
