Yanet Garcia is a Mexican meteorologist for Televisa Mexico's Monterrey News program. Garcia gained a substantial following online for wearing short, tight-fitted dresses while delivering weather reports.

Online History

In February 2010, Garcia launched the @IamYanetGarcia^[6] Twitter feed. In 2013, Garcia auditioned to become a contestant in Nuestra Belleza Mexico beauty contest.^[1] On June 29th, Garcia launched the iamyanetgarcia Instagram^[5] feed, which accumulated over 1.1 million followers in the next three years. On November 29th, 2014, the Yanet Garcia YouTube^[3] channel was launched, which gathered more than 8.8 million video views and 38,700 subscribers in the next 13 months. On July 20th, the Yanet Garcia YouTube channel uploaded footage of Garcia delivering a weather report on television while wearing a tight-fitting, white dress, which gained over 2.8 million views and 150 comments in the next five months (shown below, left). FaZe Censor uploaded an acroyoga workout video with Garcia (shown below, left). The same day, the /r/YanetGarcia^[2] subreddit was launched for media and discussions related to Garcia. Within five months, the video garnered upwards of 1.1 million views and 4,200 comments. On June 24th, 2015, the BestClips247 YouTube channel uploaded a montage of clips in which Garcia delivers weather reports while wearing tight-fitting dresses (shown below, right).

The following day, TMZ uploaded a video reporting on Garcia's Internet fame titled "The Hottest Weather Girl Ever!" (shown below, left). On July 3rd, YouTuber Ozzy Man Reviews uploaded a video in which he narrates various clips of Garcia delivering the weather, accumulating more than 5.8 million views and 1,000 comments within four months.

On December 3rd, 2015, Garcia posted a selfie photograph of her profile taken in the mirror of a public bathroom to Twitter^[7] and Instagram^[8] (shown below). In the first week, the photo garnered over 67,000 likes and 1,500 comments on Instagram and 2,900 likes on Twiter.

On December 7th, Garcia was interviewed by The Daily Mail,^[9] in which she responded to becoming an Internet celebrity by saying "This has all been so surprising to me, I am overwhelmed by how fast it’s grown."
