When you allow foreigners to colonize land your people haven't because land grants were too expensive and indians were killing your people, causing a massive surge in white foreigners into your territory so you try to control the situation by blocking the settlement of foreigners but by that time there's already ~10,000 foreign whites to your ~2000 people in your own territory so you blame the nation they came from for letting them come to your country by implementing tariffs which hurt you and your people even more and then eventually a military leader decides he's going to ursurp the government with the intent of removing, expelling, disarming, and forcing these people to submit to Mexican rule so the people of Texas, hearing this, decide they're going to declare independence so the Mexicans wouldn't have to deal with them but you weren't having it so the Texans go to war against you and win, let that same military leader live, and ship him back to Mexico unharmed, causing more of your states to declare their independence and to suppress even more calls for independence you flat out make it illegal to say anything good about Texas winning independence so after quelling all of those states you still have plans to take Texas even though the United States, United Kingdom, France, Russia, and other powers recognize their independence so you tell the Texans you'll accept their independence if they don't get annexed by the United States but since you have no control over what they do they vote to be annexed by the United States knowing full well you will try to take them back and you take this as an act of war so you invade newly annexed United States land and open fire on US troops causing the United States to declare war on you, making you lose even more land and despite the United States being generous enough to pay you even after kicking your ass you're still angry that they took "Your" land even though you only owned it for 38 years and the United States has owned it for 170 years and all of them are richer than your entire nation
