About

Pode Vir refers to an image macro and reaction image of Kratos from the God of War games with an overlay text in Portuguese saying “bring it on” and a Brazilian football team’s name below the character, signifying who is being challenged. The meme was popularized on Twitter around November 2022.

Origin

On July 7th, 2010, Illustrator Andy Park[1] shared a post on his blog with several artworks inspired by the God of War game. One of the artworks features Kratos with his twin blades in flames while a storm is raging behind him (seen below, left). This image was repurposed on August 4th, 2019, by Twitter[2] user @onthebenchbr, who added the logo of the Brazilian team Corinthians behind Kratos and the Portuguese text “bring it on” calling out the rival team, Palmeiras, by its nickname “porcada” (seen below, right).
